DISCOVERY CHANNEL - HIGH ROLLERS NIGHT
Haroko was charged with creating 2 fully CG environments for Discovery Travel & Living “High Rollers Night.” We first roll off with the POV of the dice then cut to wider shots capturing the movement and direction of it heading into a live action footage framed in an Ace of spade poker card.
The entire environment was created in order to facilitate the camera angles that the client wanted. A wide angle lens was chosen to reveal as much of the table as possible so as not to lose orientation as the first 2 shots tend to be slightly chaotic.
Textures for both the roulette table and chips were created from scratch in Photoshop. The deck of cards was bought off the shelf and scanned at a high enough resolution so that it’s able to hold up to the camera in close up shots.
A live action plate of the slot machine was digitally projected onto simple geometry to achieve parallax as the camera moves into the reels of the slot machine.
The slot machine footage has a slight pan and needed to be locked off. It was then further stabilized and extended beyond its original duration of 1 sec.
